Had to dress myself

Vince, if you’re reading this, wondering where the hell we are, I’m sorry, but we haven’t left yet.  Sorry man, it’s just one of those days you know.  I got out of the shower and figured I had to rush to get ready ‘cause The Bean was already dressed, but it seems her “around the house” clothes are not for going out.  After 5 mutations of The Bean’s outfit, which resulted in the changing of each article of clothing she put on at lease once (including socks I might point out), I got too tired of hanging around nudo waiting for her to dress me, so I did it myself.

We’ll be in Napoli in about 2 hours…….I hope you like my outfit.

Night on the Volcano

When The Bean was way back in Canada this August, I decided I would take advantage of Monte Nuovo, the Volcano that we live on the foot of.  The idea was to climb the fucker on a regular basis to tighten up my butt and try and shed my belly.  It was invigorating.  In addition to the workout, I enjoyed the tinkling sound that the scree made as my scrambling feet dislodged volcanic rocks from the side of the mountain.  Once I made it to the top I walked around the crater, taking a path that I never took before.  At first the path was wide enough for two to walk side by side, but it soon got crowded by the vegetation.  The undergrowth in the area is often dominated by a vine with barbed hooks that catch and scratch, similary to raspberry bushes, though I haven’t seen them producing the sweet/tart berries that I use to scavenge for through the Black Creek in North York during my youth.  I pushed on, since the path went to the west end of the mountain and I wanted to try and find a clearing that would let me catch the setting sun.  I found no such break in the canopy, and it just got darker and darker.  Soon, clusters of spider webs were cropping up around me in ever increasing numbers.  As I went on, webs strung across the path  brushed across my face constantly.  I started to feel as if I was being watched by countless eyes, one for each leg that clung to a string in a web.  If there were enough of them, could they take me? IMG_0019  I hurried on, spitting out webs as I went.  Slowly, I made my way around the mountain, finally to a point where the path widened and opened up .  I was now on the east side of the mountain though, so I hopped a fence to get back onto a path that I recognized as being within the park at the top the volcano and, made my way up to the summit, hurrying not to lose the sunset.  I made it with time to spare, eating the salami, cheese and bread that I had brought with me.  After which I sat and watched the sun sink into the Mediterranean.  IMG_0027 IMG_0040 IMG_0042 IMG_0046 IMG_0048IMG_0050

Sun goes down, moon comes up.  From where I was watching the sun go down you can see Capri, and in fact the entire bay of Napoli; the moon was right over Capri, it’s light reflecting a silver road from the island to the foot of Monte Nuovo.  I sat in the dark and enjoyed.  Making my way down the mountain in the dark was treacherous, with only the tinkling of volcanic scree falling down the mountainside to keep me company.

By the time I got home I was too tired to do much more than laze about and go to bed.  When I woke up I found bits of dried vegetation on my pillow, so I brushed out all of the twigs, leaves and webs from my hair….IMG_0103IMG_0108

Just got Windows Live Writer

Slaying the Bogger Beast!Slaying the blogger beast!

So, if you’ve been checking our blog you’ll notice that the last posts have been….a little disorganized.  We can’t help it, working with blogger is impossible.  No clue how Radmad.ca does it.  Perhaps she’s just that much better an exhibitionist…

Will my suffering end?IMG_0156

Anyway, I’m updating my Messenger and of course Bill offers me a bunch of other stuff, including something called “Windows Live Writer”.  I look into it and it seems that it can be used to make blog posting very easy.  So here I am, while should be working checking this thing out.  Well, how does it look?  The pictures are from Connie’s visit.

Blogger blows

did we ever tell you that blogger really sucks and it's impossible to add pics and organize things? Hence the quality of the following blogs....

Procida, July 2009

This bird was our guide to Procida, but like all Neapolitans he just wanted something...pieces of food tossed to him by little kids.

Procida, the smallest of the islands of the Bay of Naples, and the most densely populated. Its a quaint island of olive and lemon groves.

Strange?

What am I to do with him? This morning, after enjoying a pleasant breakfast of prosciutto, eggs and pancakes that Cris made I'm sitting at the table and he goes out onto the balcony, naked of course... Oh yeah, breakfast doesn't get made unless he's fresca fresc you know, even if he's been splattered by hot oil on his willy. Hmmm, maybe that's why he's growing out the pecker fro, to protect him from such accidents. Of course what's good for him isn't good for me, more pubes in the eggs and all. Anyway, none of this is strange for me even if it is for someone with a normal boyfriend, however it soon moved to strange land. No matter how many times I tell him not to he still goes out onto the balcony naked, having a need to "feel the wind on all his soft places" as he says. Gogol Bordello (gypsy punk) is blasting on our tiny boom box. Sudenly I hear a sound, I turn and there he is, espresso in on hand, bent over slightly, smaking his ass to the beat of some furiously fast violin that's playing. The song goes faster and he speeds up keeping time with the music. In no time his cheek goes red and he keeps on with it, tapping his foot, espresso cup giggling in the air. At this point he's just testing himself I think because his butt cheek goes from a glowing red to a light purple. I warn him that all the noise is going to attract a neighbors attention, but do you think he cares? Thank god the song ends and he finally comes back in. Right now he's sitting on the cool tiled floor to try and sooth his burning cheek. Strange, I think not...
